— A Newfane man reported missing on Friday was found dead Tuesday morning in Wayne, W.Va., Niagara County Sheriff’s Capt. Kristen Neubauer said.

The man’s death is still being investigated, however West Virginia State Police are not reporting any foul play.

James Carl Taylor, 52, of Lockport-Olcott Road, was reported missing by his wife, Lisa M. Taylor, who reportedly told deputy Tracy Steen he left their home around 7:30 p.m. Thursday and had not returned.

Deputies said they believe Taylor left the area after he received a call from his 10-year-old niece.

Lisa Taylor said when her husband came back inside their trailer after the phone call, “he appeared upset,” but would not tell her what the conversation was about.

She added that her husband then began “pacing” the residence, left for a short period to “go for a walk,” returned and continued pacing, and then told her he was going for a cup of coffee in his 1996 GMC Jimmy SUV, but “never returned.”

Lisa Taylor reportedly called 911 to report him missing the next day, after she contacted family, friends and her husband’s employers at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, who all said they have not seen him.

Taylor had a history of heart problems, according to the report.
