CAMBRIA: Girl reportedly finds stranger in home

CAMBRIA — A teenage girl reportedly woke up to find a strange man inside her Subbera Road home Wednesday morning.

The 13-year-old girl told sheriffs deputies she was alone in the house sleeping about 9:50 a.m., when she was awakened by noises inside the house.

The girl reportedly said she saw a man standing in the hallway outside her bedroom.

She described the suspect as an older white man, about 5- feet, 9-inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

The woman said she ran downstairs and left the house through the back kitchen door, then ran to her neighbor’s house and called 911.

Deputies and state troopers responded to the scene.

The girl’s mother came home and told deputies she had been at work, and her husband was out of town on business, the report said.

A neighbor told deputies she had seen a beige van, driven by an older white male in a red shirt, driving south past the home slowly about 10 a.m.

She said the van stopped in front of the home, turned around and passed the home again going north.

A construction worker nearby also told deputies he saw a beige van driving south at a slow speed,. He said he saw the van turn around and drive past the house again, the report said.

Nothing was reportedly taken from the home.

The incident is under investigation.
