ROOT: It's just a matter of time

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — I have never been much of a morning person, but my wife has been trying to get me to go to bed and wake up earlier for years. It isn’t that I don’t listen to what she has to say, I just couldn’t justify going to bed before “Robot Chicken” was over.

About a week ago, I got tired of always scrambling to get my work done. So I decided to give this whole “waking up in the morning” thing a try. It is a small change to my routine that has created a huge difference in my life.

Normally, I would not be boring you with a story about how I go to bed and wake up earlier. But I felt that this was significant enough that it needed to be told. Also, I refuse to discuss any of the election nonsense that is going on this week because discussing politics is a no-win situation, and I won’t do it.

Maybe the lack of political discussion in my life is another small change that has made me a lot happier. I have noticed that I am making a lot of small, and large, changes to my life that are starting to pay off with big dividends.

I re-arranged some of the things in my life so that I could put more focus on what I felt was important. I think the big problem was that I used to spend way too much time on what other people felt was important and it was taking away from the things that I really wanted to focus on. After making some slight changes here and there, I am finding that I feel a lot better about life in general, and I am getting a lot more done as well.
