Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — You may still have decorations up around your home. Chillax and appreciate them a while longer. You don’t have to pack up everything all at once!
Your Easter lilies may just be opening up to full bloom. Chillax. Savor their fragrance and appreciate their beauty. Don’t worry about putting them in the garden right this minute.
I invite you to make moments in the midst of your hectic life to chillax in your own personal way. Whether it’s savoring a cup of herbal tea, watching your favorite sports team, reading a great book or simply being awestruck by the millions of stars in the night sky, take a moment, and be relaxed and renewed.
I have found that praying during quiet moments invites the peace of God and allows Him to restore my soul. The chorus of an old hymn by Warren D. Cornell still resonates with many congregations whenever I have used it in the service:
“Peace, peace wonderful peace, coming down from the Father of love;
Sweep over my spirit forever I pray in fathomless billows of love.”
In his daily devotional “I Lift Up My Soul” Charles Stanley writes,“God wants to transform your life through the process of prayer … you experience the peace from knowing that God is in control … your anxiety melts away as you learn to trust Him.”
I hope you will make time in your life to chillax today.Jackie Davis is an inspirational vocalist, musician and speaker with over 20 years of television broadcast experience. Her column is published on a bi-weekly basis. Contact her at email@example.com.
