Enjoy an old-fashioned wagon ride through Barker, pulled by the magnificent Jenks horses as the Barker Lighthouse Optimists play host on March 29 at the Lions Club Community Center on Main Street. The event will start with a 1 p.m. pick-up at the Barker Commons to give the senior residents there the first ride. The wagon will then go to the Lions building to give rides to the community until 3 p.m. The Optimist Club will offer hot cocoa and cookies, as well as tattoos, balloon animals and a kid craft for the youngsters to celebrate spring. The event is free and everyone is invited. The Optimist Club is always looking for new members, and they meet on the first and third Tuesday each month. The next meeting is at 6 p.m. March 18 at PWT.
