Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — We are in the final countdown to the arrival of spring at 11:57 Thursday. It isn’t going to change the temperature or forecast, but hopefully it will help change our mindset. I can’t wait to see the golden daffodils along the road.

The next meeting of the Barker Seniors is Friday at the Barker Fire Hall. The Niagara Country Fiddlers will be entertaining. Easter pen pal letters and cards must be in by April 4. The Lenten lunch menu includes stuffed shells, spinach salad, yellow wax beans, Italian bread, apple, milk, coffee and tea. Call the Somerset Town Hall at 795-3575 to reserve a lunch. The suggested donation price is $3.25. Jo Ann Greenwald is setting up a spring theatre trip for members (and the community) and would like to know your preference. The choices are Rhythm of the Dance on March 30, American Legion Band on April 6 or an Elvis Tribute on April 26, all at the Riviera Theatre. The trip would include the bus from Barker and a selected restaurant for dinner. Let her know your choice as soon as possible. Call Greenwald at 795-3787 for more information.
