Treat your pooch to Saturday’s puppy social at Shoppe On Main. All puppies under the age of 18 months are welcome from 1 to 3 p.m. Pets must have had their rabies vaccination and the cost is $5 per dog. Karen Drumm of Harmony Dog Training runs the class. Call Karen at 638-1211 to reserve your spot.
Stop and shop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Saturday’s Fall Bazaar at Olcott United Methodist Church. They will offer Halloween decorations, fall items, baked goods and a plant give-away. There will be a rummage sale, with a whole bag of clothes going for $3. Enjoy hot chili or soup to take away the autumn chill; take-outs are available. All proceeds go to the church roof fund. For more information, call Pastor Kempton at 778-8599 or the church office at 778-8879.
The Newfane Legion Post is looking for a few good caps. One of the things the Post does is present the “Missing Man” (POW/MIA) table at area military and veteran’s dinners. To complete the symbolism of the services, they need the dress hats for the Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard. If anyone has one they would like to donate, call 471-0382 or email NewfaneLegion@yahoo.com. They will be presenting the stirring display at the Barker Veteran’s Dinner on Nov. 10, so check out those attics for service caps to donate. For membership information, call 471-0382.
The “Circuit Stompers,” Newfane’s Robotics team, will host a 5K run. Participants should pre-register by Oct. 24 for the Nov. 2 event.
