The Barker Seniors will meet Oct. 18 at the Barker Fire Hall, and it’s a Halloween party, so come in costume. Julie’s game starts at 10:30 a.m., the business meeting is at 11:30 and lunch served at 11:45. The menu is Swedish meatballs in mushroom gravy, whipped potatoes, Brussels sprouts, rye bread, lemon whip, milk and coffee or tea. Seniors must call the Somerset Town Hall at 795-3575 by Oct. 16 to order a lunch and also reserve a place. Storyteller Howard Edmond will entertain after lunch, and cards for the Pratt Elementary pen pals are due at this meeting. Everyone age 55 or older, from any community, is invited to join the group; dues are $2 a year. For information, call director Jo Ann Greenwald at 795-3787. Trips with the Barker Seniors are open to the public when space permits. There is a Carnival Cruise to Alaska being planned for June 17 through 24, so you can plan ahead for this dream vacation.
