• The Western New York Two Cylinder Club will be holding their 4th annual Tractor Ride on Saturday to benefit Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The entry fee is $25 per tractor with all proceeds going to Roswell Park Cancer Institute in support of their Alliance Foundation to fund prostate cancer research. This is a team cure event sanctioned by Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The ride this year will cover approximately 20 miles and will be held in the Town of Somerset, leaving from Atwater Farms on Lower Lake Road at approximately 10 a.m. and will end at Golden Hill State Park next to the light house, where a lunch will be served. Atwater Farms is located at 9676 Lower Lake Road in Barker, a short distance west of the entrance to Golden Hill State Park located at 9691 Lower Lake Road.
Anyone wishing to participate in the ride with any brand of farm tractor is welcome. Due to insurance requirements all participants must be a current member of the Western New York Two Cylinder Club. Dues are $10 per family, husband/wife and children 18 years and under, and can be paid at the time of the ride. Tractor drivers must be 18 years of age and hold a valid drivers’ license. Tractors must be able do at least 8 mph. Sign up time will be from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For more information you can call Don Schuler at (716) 751-6052 or Rose Schunk at (585) 547-9215.
The 20-mile ride will travel the following route; Lower Lake Road west to Carmen Road, Carmen Road south to Seaman Road, Seaman Road west to Route 148, Route 148 north to the Village of Barker where they will have a rest stop at the Somerset Town Hall and Park. It will leave the park and proceed north on Route 148 to Coates Road then back to Lower Lake Road and to Golden Hill State Park.
