Newfane Lions Club hosting Halloween Party tonight

The Newfane United Methodist Church, 2699 Main St., will host an Election Day Chicken and Biscuit Dinner on Tuesday. Serving begins at 4:30 p.m. The dinner will include chicken and biscuits, squash, apple salad, cranberries and homemade pies. The church is handicapped accessible and take-outs are available. Call 778-7011 for more information. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children.

The Newfane Legion Post is looking for donations of dress hats from the Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard to be used at their “Missing Man” Table that is set up at military and veteran’s dinners in our area. If anyone has one they would like to donate, please call 471-0382 or email NewfaneLegion@yahoo.com.

Are you looking for a way to share your blessings this holiday season? First Baptist Church Missions Committee in Newfane has several programs to help the area elderly and families in need. They can use bedding, blankets, non-perishable food and new or gently used toys and gift items for the upcoming holiday. They serve folks from many surrounding communities, as well. If you have any questions or would like to make a donation, call Denise Noble at 585-205-6928. Donations can be dropped off at the First Baptist Church, East Avenue, Newfane from 5 to 6 p.m. on Mondays, or make arrangements with Denise. Monetary donations can be mailed to First Baptist Church, Mission Committee Christmas Toys Drive, 6047 East Ave., Newfane, NY 14108.
