Stroll Around Newfane by Julie Obermiller

(Continued)

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — •••

Don’t miss tonight’s great program at the library. Thanks to Young Audiences of Western NY and a grant from The NY Council for the Humanities, Newfane Library will be hosting the musical group Diaspora Drumming. Their program, Wood That Sings, takes their audience through time and across oceans, tracing the path of rhythms and musical instruments across the globe. The performance includes music from Guinea, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico and the United States. Children of all ages are invited to attend this free event.

You have until Saturday to erase the fines on your overdue books at the Newfane Library. During Food For Fines week, they will accept non-perishable food donations for the community food pantry in lieu of fines.

My Lockport Exchange Club Circus friends will be serving up a family breakfast at from 7:30 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Shamus Restaurant, 98 West Ave., Lockport. The menu includes eggs, sausage, sweet rolls, orange juice and coffee for $5; $3 for children. The clowns won’t be in costume, but those zany guys can always make you smile. All proceeds benefit the many local charitable organizations supported by the Exchange Club.
