Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — WILSON — A school nurse and special education teacher will be laid off from the Wilson Central School District effective June 30, as stated by the 2014-2015 budget.
The budget calls for cuts of five-and-a-half positions total, with three positions being eliminated by attrition and one administrative position being reduced by half.
The cuts are estimated to save the district about $400,000.
Both employees, school nurse Sandra Walch and special education teacher Cynthia Kiely, have the least seniority in their areas. Kiely will be added to the Preferred Eligibility List in the special education area of tenure.
