Discounted Canal Fest tickets available

NORTH TONAWANDA — Presale tickets for the rides at Canal Fest are now available online and at local businesses, Director of the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum Rae Proefrock said.

The discounted tickets are $20 for 10 tickets. Each ticket is good for one ride, except for the Vortex, which requires two presale tickets. Buying the ride tickets at the event will result in a cost between $2.50 and $4.17 for each ride, while buying them presale will cost $1.66 each. 

The tickets are available on www.canalfest.org and www.carrouselmuseum.org. Those who buy presale tickets online will be charged a convenience fee of $2. 

The tickets are also available at local businesses. In the City of Tonawanda, tickets can be purchased at Lane Jewelers, 28 Seymour St.; Tops on Young Street; Tops on Niagara Street; and the Walgreen's at Delaware and Young streets.

In North Tonawanda, the tickets are available at Tops on Meadow Drive; Budwey's Super Market, 535 Division St.; the Corner Store, 1091 Oliver St.; and The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, 180 Thompson St. 

The tickets can be used during Canal Fest 2014 or can be saved for a future fest. They can also be used at other Powers Great American Midway events. Presale tickets will be sold until July 13. The event begins July 14. 

A percentage of the proceeds from the ride tickets will benefit the carousel museum.
