Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — If you missed last weekend’s Summerfest with Brianna’s Buddies and the Newfane Neighborhood Watch Association, you missed a really fun and moving event. Several guys were getting their heads shaved to raise money for cancer and it spurred on audience members to go under the razor as well. The additional folks, including two brave ladies and child brain cancer survivor Ryan Kruzicke, pushed the total over $5,000. The money will be used to help three gals bravely battling cancer. Thank you to all those who let Naomi Taylor of Oxygen Salon in Newfane cut their hair (and beard, in Kit’s case) and all those who braved the shears. It was a fun, family event. The winner of the raffle for the Halloween quilt pieced by Linda Fitch and stitched by Katie DerSarkissian was Jon Ormond. Kudos to all who organized and participated.
