County fair '14: 'A good thing growing'

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The 2014 Niagara County Fair will kick off July 30 with the popular Farm-City Breakfast, sponsored by Niagara County Community College.

Tickets for the family-style breakfast cost $7 each and they can be purchased now at the Cornell Cooperative Extension administration office, 4487 Lake Ave., or on the day of the breakfast. The event will be "green" with the use of compostable paper products and utensils.

This year's fair theme is "A Good Thing Growing — Celebrating Niagara County Agriculture." The logo was designed by 15-year-old Matthew McAuley of Lockport, a student at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute. McAuley won the CCE's annual fair logo contest and will be presented with his $100 prize during the Farm-City Breakfast. The other top 10 entrants in the contest will be recognized the breakfast as well. All submitted logos will be displayed during the fair.

The fair will run from July 30 through Aug. 3. For more information, visit www.cceniagaracounty.org.
