Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — • Hartland United Methodist Church, 8019 Ridge Rd., Gasport is showing free movies at dusk on July 26, August 23 and Sept 27. Bring a chair and enjoy popcorn and beverages.

• Chuck Clark, a 1974 Barker High grad, has been diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia and is undergoing treatment at Roswell Park while waiting for a bone marrow transplant. A benefit will be held from 1 p.m. to midnight on July 27 at the Hartland Fire Hall. Tickets are $15 per person and include a pulled pork dinner. There will be a Chinese auction (winners need not be present) 50/50 split, raffles and live music by The Weight and Last Call. Pop and beer will be available for purchase. Tickets are available at Boyers Tavern, Attitudes Bar & Grill, the Burt Hotel and Open Air Bar in Newfane. • Join the Somerset Historical Society for an old-fashioned family picnic and games on July 28 at the historic Babcock House Museum. The fun will start at 1:30 p.m. and guests are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own table service; drinks and fresh corn on the cob will be provided. The kids will delight in the old-fashioned games and fun and you can meet the dedicated members of the SHS, who work so hard to showcase our local history and preserve it for other generations. Everyone is invited!

• Save the date! Helen Seward will be celebrating her 90th birthday and you are invited to an open house to celebrate with her. The party will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on August 4, in the Fellowship Hall of Hartland United Methodist Church. A light lunch will be served. Please, no gifts; only your presence is requested. If you have questions, contact Sue Harrod at 772-2892.
