SHORELINE BYLINE: Children's gardening project slated at library

The Annual Booster Club Reverse Draw will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Wilson Fire Hall. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by contacting Athletic Director Jeff Roth.

Congratulations to Family and Consumer Science teacher Debi Sweeney for recently holding the 27th annual Cake Contest. Nearly 25 awards were given out to senior high students in 10 different categories.

From 6 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jeans Bar & Grill will be sponsoring the 2nd Annual Bullhead Contest. There is an entry fee due at signing. The weigh-in will be at 1 p.m. Sunday and all fish will be scanned with metal detectors. No live fish are allowed. Brown and yellow bullhead must be caught in Lake Ontario and Niagara County waters only and entrants must abide by state conservation laws. There will be cash prizes for the top three placers.

The Wilson Historical Society will present “Do You Remember?,” a round-table discussion of the history of Wilson, at 7 p.m. April 28 at the society’s Barnum Building, 645 Lake St. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the town clerk’s office at 751-6704.

A fundraiser for rescued animals will take place at 7 p.m. May 2 when “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” is performed at the Wilson House. “Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding” is a theatrical performance of a wedding reception where anything that could go wrong does go wrong. Attendees are treated as part of the family attending the wedding. Tickets are limited to 100 people; call Lori at 628-9783 for more information.

Northridge United Methodist Church, 3930 North Ridge Road, will host a Spring Basket Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26. The drawing will be at 2 p.m.; the bake sale/chowder sale is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For take-outs, bring your own container. For more information, call Karen Ward at 433-4105.
