Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The Barker High School Art Show has opened at the Barker Free Library. Stop by to see the works by our talented students. Also at the library, the book club is reading “Frog Music” and will meet at 6 p.m. Monday; new members are welcome. Rep. Chris Collins uses the library as a satellite office and a staff member from Collins’ office will be available from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to assist residents of the 27th District with casework and hear concerns from constituents.

Are you replacing a worn American flag? The Barker Junior Optimists will be collecting old and tattered flags for proper retirement by the American Legion, with a special table at the Relay For Life. Those with embroidered stars will be used in a special project called Stars For Our Troops, as a special remembrance for veterans and servicemen and women. Call me at 795-9262 for more information — and please save those flags.
