The Barker Seniors will resume meetings Sept. 6 at the Barker Fire Hall and reconvene every first and third Friday of the month through next June.
Lunch, provided through the Niagara County Office for the Aging, consists of a meatball sandwich with sauce and parmesan cheese, a garden salad with spinach and radishes, lemon whip dessert, milk and coffee or tea. Seniors must call the Somerset Town Hall at 795-3575 by Sept. 4 to order a lunch, since there was no previous sign-up.
Everyone age 55 or over, from any community, is invited to join the Barker Seniors; dues are $2 a year. For information, contact director Jo Ann Greenwald at 795-3787.
Don’t miss the annual yard-and-bake sale at County Line United Methodist Church, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7. The church is at Routes 269 and 18. Find treasures for your trove and your tummy. Proceeds will be donated to charities.
Coming up Sept. 8 is the annual basket auction and raffle at the St. Patrick’s site of Our Lady of the Lake Parish. The huge basket auction, with coffee and cookies, is a local favorite.
