Newfane’s Annual Holiday Light Up and Parade begins with a 5:30 p.m. parade on Dec. 6, when Santa arrives on a horse-drawn wagon. If anyone is interested in participating as a parade entry, call Tammy Dodge at 778-8558, ext. 2232. Talk to Santa at the Main Street gazebo; everyone enjoys hot chocolate and cider, with free cookies.
Dec. 6 also brings the 8th Annual Candy Cane Craft Show and Cafe from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Newfane United Methodist Church, 2699 Main St. This year’s show has both new and returning craftsmen. There are some exciting items for sale, made by several talented people. In addition, the café will again offer delicious homemade hot food at reasonable prices. A bake sale includes cookie platters as well as many other goodies. The church is handicap accessible, with an elevator in the rear of the building.
