The first night of the Living Nativity at Newfane’s Grace Bible Church is Dec. 6. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., you can enjoy a 30-minute guided walk through the Christmas story and beyond. Dress warm because some scenes are outside. The event continues Dec. 8, 13 and 15. Park behind Newfane Town Hall and take a shuttle bus. While-you-wait activities include Christmas music, coffee, hot cocoa and cookies, and the kids’ corner offers crafts. Admission is free.

From 5 to 7 p.m., also on Dec. 6, there will be a basket auction at the First Baptist Church on East Avenue, where all proceeds from the auction will be going for Christmas toys for area children. If you can donate a basket, call Denise at 585-205-6928.

Stedman Nurseries Christmas Village is now open at 2857 Main St. with live trees, cut trees, fresh greens, wreaths and swags, ornaments, handmade gifts, jams and jellies, and professionally framed photography by DMS Photography. Custom-made wreaths, centerpieces and bows are also available. Santa will be visiting from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 and 14. Photographers will be on hand for photos with Santa.

The Old-Fashioned Carol Sing will be back beginning at 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Van Horn Mansion, Lockport-Olcott Road. Bring the whole family and join them for a wonderful family holiday tradition with carol singing in the parlor, the Methodist Bell Choir and holiday treats in the dining room. The mansion will be traditionally decorated. Admission and parking are free, but a non-perishable food donation for the local food pantry would be appreciated. For more information, call 778-7197.
