The Barker Music Parent Club will hold a general membership meeting at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the high school band room. The group provides support for our amazing music department and helps provide instruments, scholarships, music varsity letters and more. Attention teen ball players! Somerset Little League is looking for 13- and 14- year-olds for junior teams (age 14 may try out for seniors) and 15- and 16-year-olds for senior teams. If you didn’t get registered, the last signup is from 12 to 3 p.m. April 12 at the Lions Community Center, Main Street, Barker. Opening day for baseball is May 3!

The next meeting of the Barker Seniors is Friday at the Barker Fire Hall. Lisa Lundy of Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility will have a brief presentation on the facility’s offerings. Easter pen pal letters and cards must be in. Make a towel Spring Bunny craft with Julie. Bring two dishcloths and one dish towel, or we’ll shop for you. Call Julie at 795-9262 with questions. Doc Licata will perform “swinging songs for seniors.” Sign up for the annual senior breakfast hosted by the BCS Honor Society on May 7. The Lenten lunch menu includes vegetable lasagna, spinach salad with red onion and salad dressing, dinner roll, cherry cake with frosting, milk, coffee and tea. Call the Somerset Town Hall at 795-3575 to reserve a lunch. The suggested donation price has risen to $3.25. Only a few tickets remain for a trip to see the Von Trapp Family Singers at the Riviera Theatre on April 27. Pet owners should plan ahead for the free rabies clinic to be held at the Somerset highway garage on Haight Road from 2 to 4 p.m. April 12. Living in the country means being especially vigilant about rabies protection.
