It's time to look ahead to warm-weather activities

If you are a responsible, friendly, hardworking student, 16 or older, enrolled in school in the fall and enjoy working with children, Olcott Beach Carousel Park is looking for you. Employment runs from July through Labor Day and pays $8 per hour. There are optional opportunities to work Memorial Day weekend and weekends in June as well. Applications are available at the guidance departments at Barker, Wilson and Newfane schools, at the Newfane Town supervisor’s office or by calling Rosemary at 778-7066. Applications are due on or before April 30.

Prize donations are being accepted for a May 3 benefit for Barker second-grader Skyla Dennis, who was recently diagnosed with acute myeoblastic leukemia. Flyers are posted around town and I will keep you updated with details of the event, to be held at the Hartland Fire Hall. Orders are being taken now for the 2014 Barker Central School Latrator. Order forms can be found on the Latrator page of the BCS website or online at jostensyearbooks.com. Orders must be in by May 9. Contact Emma Dewart at edewart@barkercsd.net with any questions.
