Free e-reader instruction offered at Roy Hart Library

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — MIDDLEPORT — A hands-on Gadgets and Gear training session will be held next week at Royalton Hartland Community Library.

From 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sara Taylor, an e-mobile trainer from the NIOGA Library System’s BTOP Express, will field walk-in visitors’ questions about using Kindles, Nooks, iPads, flash drives, laptops, et cetera.

Taylor also will show people how to download free e-books from the NIOGA system’s online service, Overdrive; use Freegal, a free music download service; and access free magazines on Zinio.

Gadgets and Gear is “a great opportunity to get your questions answered and practice what you have just learned,” Rose Bernard, library director, said. “Sara is wonderful and has the knack for making learning easy.”

Students are reminded to bring the charging cord that goes with the electronic device they’re learning about.

For more information, call the library at 735-3281.
