• Our neighbors in Hartland will be celebrating their Bicentennial with a grand celebration on July 28, from noon to 6 p.m. in the Hartland Town Park on Ridge Road. There will be a huge parade at noon, as well as food vendors, artisans, crafters and contests for adults and children. You’ll enjoy continuous music, historical encampments, horse and wagon rides, vintage tractor displays and much more, so save the date for old-fashioned fun. • Get tickets now for the Barker Fire Dept.’s annual Beer and Band night on July 28. Live music will be provided by Civil Unrest from 9 to 1 a.m. Doors open at 8 p.m. and there is a $5 admission/cover charge. There will be plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs, an assortment of beer and malt beverages and non-alcoholic drinks for purchase. There will be 50/50 drawings and a special raffle for the Fishing Fiend. • Save the date! The Barker Pioneer Fest is coming on September 8 and you won’t want to miss it. The all-day event is sponsored by the Barker Business and Professional Assoc., and it promises to be an amazing celebration! Look for the BBPA float in Hartland’s Bicentennial Parade on July 28 or visit their tent at our Farmer’s Market on Thursdays. Sponsors and volunteers are needed for the event.
