Benjamin McKissock

Benjamin McKissock, 17, is a senior at Lockport High School who attends the Diesel Mechanic program through BOCES. Ben also works part-time at Wagner’s Restaurant and plans to attend a tech school to continue his education in diesel mechanics after high school graduation.Ben has always loved sports and the outdoors, He began playing Little League baseball at age 5, and continued playing at DeSales Catholic School, where he was part of the 8th Grade Championship Baseball Team. Ben also played football for three years at LHS.He also enjoys hunting with his dad and uncle in the Southern tier, and is an avid Xbox player. In his spare time, he also enjoys playing basketball at local parks with his friends.Ben’s mom and Aunt Gina nominated him for the Page 1 Valentine contest “because he is a good kid with a big heart who always lends a hand. His whole family is very proud of the young man he has become.”Ben is the son of Jack and Marisa McKissock and has a sister, Grace.

Brad Wroblewski

Brad Wroblewski, 17, is a senior at Lockport High School. He has played baseball for many years, earning the award for All Western New York Tournament last summer. Brad has played baseball for LHS, as well as volleyball and basketball. He recently signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball for Niagara County Community College.Brad works part-time at Delta Sonic, and would like to pursue a career in criminal justice.

Zac Taylor

Zac Taylor, 16, is a junior at Lewiston-Porter High School.Zac has been in Niagara County Boy Scouts since he was 6 years old. He is now working on his Eagle Scout project. He has established a college scholarship program through record popcorn sales for many years.Zac is a member of many volunteer groups that help people who need financial aid. He is a member of the Rainbow of Help, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Boy Scout Troop 824 and volunteered for Jammies for GIs.He also attend karate classes, where he is a student-level instructor. Zac plans to pursue a career in engineering, attending Rochester Institute of Technology.

Brittany Sample

Brittany Sample, 17, is a senior at Barker Jr. /Sr. High School. She also studies conservation at Niagara Career and Technical Education Center and is enrolled in Dual Credit ENSC 100 Introduction to Environmental Science class at SUNY Morrisville.Last year, Brittany graduated from the Leadership for the Youth of Niagara County program, and last fall she attended the NYS SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference.Next year, Brittany will be attending SUNY Morrisville for Environmental and Natural Resource Conservation.Her hobbies include hunting, fishing and, being outdoors and in nature. In the future, she hopes to become an Environmental Conservation Officer with the New York State DEC.

Brittany White

Brittany White, 17, is a senior at Lockport High School. She is on the Varsity Tennis Team, the Wind Ensemble, where she serves as librarian and she is vice president of the Concert Band.Scholastically, Brittany has been on the high honor roll since middle school and is currently taking many advance and college courses.An animal lover, Brittany has been involved in 4-H for several years as a dog trainer, winning numerous county and state awards. She is also an avid horseback rider.Brittany currently is working at Tops and for many years has volunteered at Amberleigh Retirement Community.Next year, Brittany plans to got to either Buffalo State or Brockport to pursue a teaching career.

Roserita DiMillo

Roserita DiMillo is a Lockport High School senior. She currently serves as Class Council Co-President, DECA Business Club President, as well as Principal's Advisory Council Co-President. This year she was chosen to participate in the Leadership Youth of Niagara County program.  She is on the Varsity swim team, basketball team, and lacrosse team, having participated in all three since 8th grade. This past season, she qualified for the state swim meet in the 200-freestyle relay. Along with her busy schedule, she still maintains herself as a National Honor Society member, Math Honor Society member, Academic "L" recipient, and High Honor Roll member. She has also earned the Scholar Athlete Award the past four years.Roserita is unsure of where she will be attending in the fall, but hopes to play either Division II or Division III lacrosse. Roserita was nominated by her sister, Carmella, who said, “I'm honored to be her older (and wiser) sister, a previous teammate, an 18-year roommate, and a best friend to Roserita. Although younger, I truly do look up to her for her strength in character, her dedication to life, and her humility in it all. She is a friend to all and makes a point to find the best in everyone. Through all her activities, she stays grounded in who she is and the important things in life. Page 1 Valentine may not be the Nobel Peace Prize, but it would be an honor for my sister nonetheless,” Carmella wrote.

Erin Conley

Erin Conley is a senior at Starpoint High School.She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the Varsity Swim team for four years, She is also the treasurer of the school book store.Erin works with the art department in the kindergarten through second grade building in the Big Brother Big Sister program through the National Honor Society. She has also been involved with the Challenger Baseball League, helping mentally and physically challenged people play baseball.Erin enjoys photography, being outdoors, being with her friends and swimming.In the future, she plans to attend a SUNY college to study accounting, and hopes to become  a Certified Public Accountant.

Sarah Sharp

Sarah Sharp is a senior at Lockport High School. She previously attended Summit Academy (a school for autistic children).Sarah rode for several years at Equi*Star Therapeutic Horseback Riding, and won two gold medals in the Special Olympics.She is a member of the Challenger Sports League, where she plays baseball, volleyball, and bowls. She also ice skates with SABAH, and has a show coming up in March.Sarah enjoys the recreation program with Opportunities Unlimited and going to Camp Kenan with Camp Happiness. Upon graduating, Sarah plans on entering the YALT program through People Inc. and Niagara County Community College. There she will continue learning fundamental life skills as well as important job skills while receiving a sample of college life.Sarah is the daughter of Julia (Jim) Shaw and Dave (Tracy) Sharp. She is the sister of Hannah Sharp.

Shelby Kirkman

Shelby Kirkman is a senior at Lockport High School. She is active with the Lockport Flips and enjoys spending her spare time traveling, meeting new people and exploring new places.Shelby has been a volunteer at the Palace Theatre for four years, where she helps works concessions for plays, movies and other events. Shelby is also a big help to her grandmother during Lockport Cruise Nights. She belongs to First Presbyterian Church in Lockport.Shelby plans on continuing her education after graduation this year at Niagara County Community College, followed by Trocaire College to pursue a career in nursing.
