A city man has been charged with assault after allegedly breaking another man’s nose in a fight over a woman.
Brian M. Morrow, 18, 82 Niagara St., west, was charged Monday night with third-degree assault.
Police responded to the emergency room at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport on June 24 to speak with a Chestnut Drive man, who was a patient there.
The man reportedly had a large amount of blood on his shirt and was bleeding from his nose, the report said. He also reportedly had a cut on his nose.
The man told police he had been at Grossi Park that afternoon with some friends when he saw Morrow pull up in his pickup with some of his friends.
He said Morrow was upset with him because he had “fooled around” with Morrow’s girlfriend, the report said. Morrow had allegedly been sending text messages to different people threatening to beat the man up.
Morrow allegedly got out of his truck, walked up to the man and said, “Let’s do this.”
He allegedly punched the man in the face, causing the man to fall to the ground.
Morrow allegedly got on top of the man and began beating him in the face with his fist.
After several seconds, Morrow got up and walked away, the report said.
The man said his friend helped him up and rushed him to the hospital. The friend told police there was “so much blood” that he panicked and did not know what else to do, the report said.
The man told police he believed his nose was broken and that it is “slightly crooked” now.
Morrow reportedly turned himself in at the Lockport Police Department on Monday.
