BLOTTER: Police reports published July 2

City of Lockport

• HARASSMENT: George T. Reed, 49, 283 South St., was charged Monday afternoon with second-degree harassment. Reed allegedly struck another man in the face and neck, leaving bruises and scratches, after an argument at his home.

• DRUGS: Nicole L. Koziel, 32, 144 Chapel St., upper, was charged Monday night with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers stopped Koziel’s car for a traffic infraction June 24 on South Transit Street. Inside the car, they reportedly found two orange tablets. Koziel allegedly told officers she did not know what the pills were, she got them from a friend and she took them for back pain. The tablets were sent to the county lab for testing, and results came back positive for buprenorphine, a narcotic, the report said. Koziel was held in lieu of $100 bail.

Reid, an employee at Wal-Mart on South Transit Road, allegedly tried to steal an Everstart truck battery and two oil filters from the store. The items are worth $56.84, the report said. Reid was released on an appearance ticket and is due July 15 in Lockport Town Court.

The air compressor is worth about $130,000, the report said. It was hitched to a 1998 Ford truck, and someone reportedly pulled the truck about 5 feet forward after unhooking the compressor from the hitch. As a result, the drive shaft on the truck was twisted and bent, the report said. Damage to the truck was estimated at $3,500.
