BLOTTER: Police reports published July 18

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal

City of Lockport

• DRUGS: Justin A. Fuller, 22, 19 John St., Apt. 1, was charged Wednesday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Officers responded to High Street for a report of several people smoking marijuana near the playground at John Pound Elementary School. Officers interviewed Fuller on the scene, and he allegedly admitted to having marijuana on him. Fuller allegedly possessed a wooden pipe with some half-burned marijuana in it. He was released on an appearance ticket and is due Monday in Lockport City Court.

• DRUGS: Donald Carl Williamson Jr., 19, 6035 S. Transit Road, was charged Wednesday night with unlawful possession of marijuana. Officers reportedly saw Williamson separating marijuana in a parking lot at Walnut and Washburn streets. He was released on an appearance ticket and is due July 29 in Lockport City Court.

Town of Lockport

• BURGLARY: An employee of Hometown America Communities on South Transit Road reported Thursday that overnight, someone broke into the business office and stole a Dell desktop computer worth $1,200.

Newfane

• DWI: Buster Cogar Jr., 49, 195 Locust St., Lockport, was charged early Thursday with driving while intoxicated, failing to keep right, following too closely and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Deputies responding to a report of a hit-and-run accident on Ridge Road passed by Cogar’s car on Day Road. The car had heavy front end damage and one headlight, the report said. Cogar reportedly told deputies he’d hit a deer and was trying to get home. Deputies told him he did not hit a deer, and he allegedly said, “I know. I hit another car.” Deputies reportedly smelled alcohol on Cogar’s breath, and he reportedly admitted to drinking four beers. He allegedly failed several field sobriety tests and registered a 0.10 percent blood alcohol content on a breath test. He was held in lieu of $250 bail and is due July 22 in Newfane Town Court.
