City of Lockport
• CONTEMPT: Anthony J. Bennett, Jr., 24, 6489 Dysinger Road, Apt. 3, was charged Monday with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers who stopped a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation found there was a full order of protection for the driver and two children in the vehicle against Bennett, according to the report.
• LARCENY: Aaron R. Knowles, 24 of 111 Cottage St., Apt. 31, was arrested Monday on charges of petit larceny and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. A police report said officers responded to a man’s home on Sweetwood Drive for a report of stolen property from a vehicle. The victim said that someone took several items, including a cell phone, DVD and CD player from his vehicle.
• CONTEMPT: Mark A. Mix, 29, 300 High Street, Apt. 7, was charged Monday with second-degree criminal contempt. Police were dispatched to a residence on Monday for a 911 hang-up. The victim reportedly said she called 911 because the suspect called her several times threatening to “come over” despite the order of protection against him from Lockport City Court.
• BURGLARY: Thomas T. Ruiz, 17, of Lockport-Olcott Road was charged Monday with possession of a burglary tool, obstruction of traffic and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. Police reportedly observed Ruiz walking in the roadway on Cottage Street, obstructing traffic. He matched the description of a vehicle larceny suspect, and upon an interview with Lockport police, he was found in possession of a knife and items reported in a larceny case, a police report said.
• DRUGS: Aaron R. Tomaino, 25 of 120 New York St., Apt. 1, was arrested on charges of second -degree burglary, grand larceny and third- and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. On Monday night, it was reported that an unknown person entered the victim’s residence ion the City of Lockport and took $2,100 worth of prescription medication including Hydrocodone, Oxycontin, Valium and morphine prescribed for the victim’s wife, who has been hospitalized since last week. There were two suspects, but an anonymous tip led to Tomaino after a full investigation by Det. Kevin Schrader, according to the report.
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Jarrid R. Stover, 22, 15 Tudor Lane, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. On Sunday night, patrol reportedly responded to Lock Street for a report of criminal mischief. The victim told police that he got a ride home from the suspect. According to the police report, the victim refused to give Stover gas money, and Stover got so angry that he reportedly sent the victim threatening text messages and threw a lit candle from the victim’s porch through his front window, causing $200 worth of damage.
Hartland
• HARASSMENT: Paul Guzock of Hartland was charged with harassment on Sunday after reportedly threatening a Drum Road, Middleport, man. The victim told police he was picking up some farm equipment on Rose Road when Guzock began to be verbally abusive toward him saying, “I’m gonna come up to the street and shoot you.” A police report said the victim and the suspect have had an ongoing problem.
