Teens accused of attempted burglary in city

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Two Lockport teens were charged with promoting prison contraband Sunday when they were taken to the county jail on attempted burglary charges.

Brandon Brott, 17, 72 Charlotte St., and Cedric Luke, 17, 321 Michigan St., both were charged with second-degree attempted burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief early Sunday after police responded to a report of burglary in progress at a Charlotte Street residence. An officer witnessed the teens fleeing the residence, according to Lockport Police Department.

The teens were taken into custody and transferred to Niagara County Jail where, according to the sheriff's office, corrections staff found 5 sleeping pills in Luke's possession and an electric vapor cigarette in Brott's possession. Both teens had denied having anything on them before they were searched.

Brott and Luke were arraigned in Lockport Town Court on the contraband charge; bail was set at $500 for each of them. They were arraigned Monday in City Court on the attempted burglary charges.
