PENDLETON — A vehicle reported stolen from a Lockport city resident was found this afternoon when it was involved in an accident at Campbell Boulevard and Lockport Road.

Two suspects, the driver and a passenger, were taken into custody after the vehicle was involved in an accident with an Allied Waste Services truck about 12:30 p.m. The vehicle reportedly ran into the rear of the garbage truck, lifting one of the truck's rear tires off the ground.

A Webb Street man had reported his 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier missing Thursday morning. He told Lockport police that it disappeared sometime between 3 and 6 a.m. The vehicle was locked, but an ignition key was in the center console, he said.

Investigation is ongoing, according to Sheriff James Voutour.
