LARCENY: A business on Old Niagara Road reported Wednesday morning that a construction trailer had been stolen from the company’s lot. The trailer was last known to be in the lot on Nov. 3, 2013, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office. The case was forwarded to the criminal bureau.

FRAUD: A Purdy Road woman reported Tuesday afternoon that someone filed her taxes electronically without her knowledge. According to the sheriff’s office, the woman said that an accountant from H and R Block informed her that someone had already filed her tax return with the IRS. The woman contacted the IRS and was instructed to file a local police report. The IRS is handling the investigation.
