Middleport 7-Eleven store robbed

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Middleport Police and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two men wanted for an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store in the Village of Middleport.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said at about 14 minutes after midnight on Dec. 25, the two men entered the Telegraph Road store, showed a black pistol and demanded money from the register.

A store clerk handed over $122 to the men, the incident report said. The men wanted the clerk to open a safe, but the clerk did not know how. So the armed men left.

The men left the store and headed east. An unknown vehicle was also seen leaving the 7-Eleven parking lot, heading east, the clerk reportedly told police.

Middleport Police and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded. A surveillance tape reportedly showed the two men committing the robbery, officers said.

The first suspect was described as a white man, about 5-feet-9-inches tall, wearing a black colored Carhartt-style coat and a black colored sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head. He was also wearing a white rag over his face, dark blue jeans, black gloves and dark colored boots.

The second suspect, who entered the store after the first suspect and did not have anything in his hands, was described as a white man, about 5-feet-10-inches tall, wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head. He was also wearing a white rag over his face, dark colored jeans and boots.

The Sheriff’s Office said Orleans County Sheriff’s Office was notified.

Anyone with information can call the NCSO Criminal Investigation Bureau at 438-3335 or the dispatch center at 438-3393.
