Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Hit-and-run does damage at Wilson brewery

Roughly $750 worth of damage was done to a staircase at Woodcock Brothers Brewery in Wilson, after a hit-and-run accident Sunday.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said two customers were leaving the Lake Street brewery on an all-terrain-vehicle when they hit the main staircase in front of the building. When approached by staff, the men reportedly became belligerent and left the scene on the ATV.

Deputies did not find the ATV or the men, but surveillance video is being reviewed.

City of Lockport

POSSESSION: Nicholas Smith, 24,  262 Garden St. apt. E was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Monday. Arraignment date is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 25 under judge Thomas DiMillo. 

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Michael Clines, 47, 80 Genessee St. apt 4, was charged with disorderly conduct Monday. Return date is 9:30 a.m. Wednesday under judge William Watson. 

TRESPASSING: Anthony Sammarco, 17, 27 Cave St. apt 1, was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest Monday. Arraignment date was 9:30 a.m. Monday under judge William Watson. 

Town of Lockport

CONTRABAND: Elizabeth Z. Shufelt, 33, 37 Niagara St., was charged with promoting contraband in prison Jan. 31. Shufelt was arraigned in Town Court and was ordered held on $500 bail. She’s due back in Town Court on Thursday.

LARCENY: The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said a Whispering Pines Drive man reported Monday someone had taken his GPS, cell phone charger and two boxes of shotgun ammunition. He reportedly found his passenger door and trunk open when he was leaving for work Monday morning. The value of the missing items totaled $120.

THEFT: A Holly Drive man reported Monday someone had taken $1.50 in coins from his unlocked vehicle, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. During the night, the victim heard his vehicle door slam shut, so he went to check it in the driveway. He reportedly followed footprints in the snow to the parking lot of Cammarata’s Restaurant and saw three individuals. All three took off when the victim approached them. Deputies checked the area and did not find them.

AUTO STRIPPING: A CD player/radio was taken from a Village Parkway man’s unlocked vehicle on Monday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. In the process of removing the $100 player, about $100 worth of damage was done to the center instrument panel, according to the incident report.

POSSESSION: David E. Foltz, 32, 62 O’Brien Drive, was charged Sunday with criminal possession of a controlled substance and failure to keep right. The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said Foltz was given a court appearance ticket for Feb. 20 in Lockport Town Court.


LARCENY: Jason T. Hanahan, 32, 1889 Quaker Road, Barker, was charged with petit larceny Monday. Hanahan was arraigned in Newfane Town Court, whose Justice Bruce Barnes ordered him sent to Niagara County Jail pending a Feb. 25 return court appearance.


LARCENY: Brett R. Gill, 18, was charged with petit larceny Feb. 1. According to the New York State Police, Gill was given a court appearance ticket.
