Drive-by shooter puts 10 holes in truck

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — MIDDLEPORT — A drive-by shooter put 10 holes into a Silverado pickup parked at the Wolcottsville Sportsmens Club on Ditch Road on Tuesday about 9 p.m.

A Chestnut Ridge Road man reported that he was finished mowing the lawn at the club when he was attempting to load his lawnmower into a trailer attached to his 2009 Chevrolet Silverado.

He noticed a dark color smaller pickup truck into the parking lot of the Sportsmen’s Club at a high rate of speed.

The 61-year-old victim was inside his vehicle when he heard a gunshot and a bullet hit his truck on the passenger side.

He ducked on the front seat and heard approximately nine more shots. He saw the truck leave the parking lot and travel northbound on Ditch Road.

The sheriff’s patrol observed nine 22-caliber indentations on the truck, two of which penetrated the cab of the vehicle.

The man, who is a member of the club, found a 10th hole in a taillight on Wednesday. The damage, estimated at $1,000, has not be accessed.

The man was not injured in the incident. Patrol located several .22 shell casings with the letter “f” in the parking lot of the Sportsman’s Club.

While on scene, the patrol was notified that Genesee County, and Erie County Sheriffs were investigating similar incidents.

Erie County Sheriffs stopped and detained a male operating a vehicle matching the description.
