Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A former Lockport resident currently living in Florida was arrested Thursday on accusations that she took $35,000 from the bank accounts of elderly customers while she worked at an area bank.

Vickie L. Fritton, 58, Spring Hill, Fla., is charged with first-degree scheme to defraud and third-degree grand larceny. The grand larceny charge stems from an allegation that Fritton used her position at the bank to steal $10,000 from an elderly Lockport man. New York State Police said the bank conducted a subsequent internal investigation into Fritton and determined that she took more than $25,000 from six other elderly bank customers.

Fritton was arraigned before Lockport Town Justice Cheryl Antkowiak and released on her own recognizance. She is due to return to the Town of Lockport court May 22.
