Wireless Zone reports 36 cell phones stolen

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Over $21,000 in merchandise was reported stolen from Wireless Zone on South Transit Road sometime Sunday.

According to the sheriff’s report, 36 cellular telephones with a combined value of $21,000 were taken.

At 6:42 a.m. the patrol was dispatched  for a report of a rear door alarm, but found the rear doors secure. However, the front doors of the business had been smashed. There was no one still inside.

There was some interior damage and the cabinet containing cellular telephones had been ransacked. A video showed two men dressed in white hooded sweatshirts, jeans and sneakers, with black bandanas on and wearing gloves, make entry and go into the rear storage area. The suspects likely left through the rear door, setting off the alarm.

A tool used by the suspects to smash the glass doors and the video recording was found. The stolen cellular telephones were deactivated.
