Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Two city residents face drug possession charges after their vehicle was stopped at a DWI checkpoint Sunday night.
Thomas D. Byrne, 33, and Alison N. Byrne, 31, both of 258 High St, Apt. 1, both were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, after police searched the blue van that they were riding in.
According to the arrest reports, a patrol officer found a burned cigarette paper containing suspected marijuana in the van's passenger-side door, and more suspected marijuana and two Opana pills in the center console. Thomas Byrne later admitted to having four more Opana pills in one of his socks, police said.
Thomas Byrne also was charged with fourth-degree possession of a weapon, after the patrol officer turned up a double-sided dagger in the van, police said.
