Three arrested, found with cocaine

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — An Akron couple and Lockport man face drug charges after a traffic stop at 5 p.m. on State Road on Monday.

Mary A. Golding, 48, 24 Buell St., Akron, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Ralph A. Golding, 48, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Justin J. Snead, 21, 6552 Lincoln Place, Apt. C was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and failure to signal.

The police stopped a vehicle with a California registration for a traffic infraction. According to the report, Snead, the driver, appeared to be highly agitated and nervous. He had a white substance on his lips and appeared to be concealing something in his mouth.

Mary and Ralph Golding had conflicting accounts of their relationship to the driver and what they were doing. Mary said she was in possession of a crack stem and Ralph gave permission to search the vehicle which was rented from Enterprise. 

The police located several plastic large bags commonly used to package drugs and and a digital scale which was covered with a white powdery substance which field tested for cocaine.  

The police seized $693 from Snead. All evidence was submitted for further testing.
