Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — MEDINA — Two village residents face a battery of criminal charges after police seized a pound of marijuana, weapons and drug paraphernalia in a three-property raid, the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force announced Monday.
The raids on 510 West Ave., apartments A7 and A5A, and 228 Eagle St. were conducted June 20. Police took away over a pound of marijuana, a stolen, loaded .22 caliber handgun, a .22 caliber rifle, $2,500 cash, scales, packaging material and other drug paraphernalia, according to supervising Investigator Joseph F. Sacco.
Rodrick S. Griffin, 31, of 238 Eagle St., faces multiple charges of criminal possession and criminal sale of marijuana, as well as criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property. Griffin was arraigned in Ridgeway town court and was ordered held at Orleans County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Kelly A. Moriarty, 34, of 238 Eagle St., was arrested on single charges of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Moriarty was arraigned in Ridgeway town court and was ordered jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Both were due to return to town court Monday.
A third individual is sought in connection with the raids, which came after an investigation into the sale and distribution of marijuana in the village, Sacco said.
The bust was conducted by task force representatives in conjunction with Medina Police Department and the Orleans County multi-agency SWAT team.
