CONTEMPT: Jon A. Naumowicz, 38, 176 Meadowbrook Parkway, Cheektowaga, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt about 10 a.m. Wednesday in connection with a reported July 1 incident. He was arraigned in City Court.

Town of Lockport

RECOVERED PROPERTY: A Birchwood Drive resident reported finding her son's stolen bike listed for sale at an online yard sale website Thursday evening. The bike was reported stolen June 7. With help from the owner, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office recovered the bike from a Gabriel Drive residence and returned it to the owner. The $800 Mirra Co bike had been altered — the tires were changed and the frame was painted — but the serial number matched the one given by the owner when she reported it stolen, according to the sheriff's office.

STOLEN VEHICLE: A Ridge Road man reported his white 1999 Chevrolet van was stolen sometime between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The man said the keys were in the ignition but the van had mechanical problems. It appears as though the van was towed away from the owner's property, according to the sheriff's office. The owner's estimated loss is $1,000. The owner was advised by the sheriff's office to look for it online and at scrapyards.

POSSESSION: Kelsey L. Russel, 21, 4258 Plank Road, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container about 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Russel was held at the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $250 bail and is due in Cambria town court on Tuesday.

UNLAWFUL DEALING: Ray C. Watterson, 70, 1110 Lockwood Drive, Lockport, was charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks Thursday evening after the sheriff's office fielded a complaint about a man setting off fireworks in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 3800 block of Lockport Road. A sheriff's deputy seized two large boxes of fireworks from Watterson's truck, including a box of M-80s, according to the sheriff's office. Watterson also received two traffic citations for not having two child passengers secured with the proper child restraints in his truck, the sheriff's office said. Watterson is due in Wheatfield town court on July 15.
