Two charged during enforcement detail

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Two employees of gas stations in Niagara County were charged with misdemeanors for selling alcohol to minors during an underage alcohol enforcement detail this past Sunday.

Clyde D. Busch, 50, of Medina, an employee of the Stop-N-Gas on Lake Avenue, and Miranda L. Newman, 17, of Wilson, an employee of the Gulf Station on Center Street in Lewiston, were both charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sales.

The detail was a joint operation between the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police and the state Liquor Authority using underage operatives. The detail ran from 1 to 6 p.m. Seventeen convenience stores were checked for compliance.
