Inspection sticker switched

LOCKPORT — Insurance adjusters were surprised Tuesday to find that a vehicle they were examining after an accident was missing its inspection sticker, and that the sticker had been affixed to another vehicle.

An Aiken Road woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that her 2005 Dodge had been involved in an accident and was parked at a shop at 5220 Lockport-Junction Road for the insurance adjuster to inspect it.

According to the woman, the adjusters noticed her inspection sticker was missing and looked at her inspection receipt.

The woman said her inspection sticker number was found on a 1994 Dodge that was also parked in the lot. Patrol responded to 5220 Lockport-Junction Road, but the Dodge was no longer there. The inspection sticker has been documented as stolen.
