Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Endangerment charges lodged

A city woman faces child endangerment charges after Lockport police were told her two kids were running around an apartment building without clothing or supervision.

Brittany L. Donovan, 24, 13 Tudor Lane, Apt. 7, was charged Thursday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She’s due Monday in Lockport City Court.

Police said a caller reported seeing the children running up and down a staircase. Officers responded and found Donovan’s apartment door open. The police entered and found Donovan asleep in her bedroom.

Officers called out to Donovan three times before she woke up. The apartment reportedly smelled like vomit and there was food scattered all over, including butter on the sofa and tables, police said.

Two guinea pigs were running free in the apartment and clothing was strewn about the place, the arrest report said. There were no blankets on the children’s beds and the refrigerator was empty.

Child Protective Services was called and the children were turned over to family members.
