Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Endangerment charges lodged

A city woman faces child endangerment charges after Lockport police were told her two kids were running around an apartment building without clothing or supervision. 

Brittany L. Donovan, 24, 13 Tudor Lane, Apt. 7, was charged Thursday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She’s due Monday in Lockport City Court.

Police said a caller reported seeing the children running up and down a staircase. Officers responded and found Donovan’s apartment door open. The police entered and found Donovan asleep in her bedroom.

Officers called out to Donovan three times before she woke up. The apartment reportedly smelled like vomit and there was food scattered all over, including butter on the sofa and tables, police said.

Two guinea pigs were running free in the apartment and clothing was strewn about the place, the arrest report said. There were no blankets on the children’s beds and the refrigerator was empty.

Child Protective Services was called and the children were turned over to family members.

City of Lockport

THEFT: Jamal J. Harris, 17, 193 Lock St., was charged with fifth-degree possession of stolen property Thursday. Harris was held for court.

HARASSMENT: Lance C. Bradley, 45, 332 Hawley St., was charged with second-degree harassment and obstruction of breathing Thursday. Bradley is due in Lockport City Court on Monday.

NO LICENSE: Zachary S. Baldwin, 21, 5001 South Gravel Road, Medina, was charged with driving with a suspended registration, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a seat belt or without insurance Wednesday. Baldwin is due in Lockport City Court on Wednesday .

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Michael E. Jordan, 25, 104 Stenzil Drive, North Tonawanda, was charged with disorderly conduct around 3:15 a.m. April 12 on Main Street, for allegedly swearing at a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy who was assisting Lockport Police Department with an assault investigation. Jordan was held at the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $100 bail pending arraignment in Lockport City Court.
