Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A man was caught breaking into vehicles in the Woodlands manufactured housing park Sunday morning, according to New York State Police.
Joseph J. Zavarella, 27, of Lockport, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, petit larceny, attempted petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, after he was questioned by a state Trooper and a Niagara County Sheriff's deputy who both responded to a call about a man breaking into cars in the park around 7:30 a.m.
Zavarella admitted to breaking into several cars Sunday and also to taking $1,000 from an unlocked vehicle on April 25, state police said. Zavarella was found in possession of a pipe with suspected crack cocaine residue, police said.
