Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — An arrest has been made in the random attack of a 37-year-old woman at the Chestnut Street Laundromat, Lockport Police announced Friday.
Lemuel L. Hardy Jr., 28, 25 Adam St., is charged with first-degree attempted criminal sexual act and second-degree assault. A search warrant was executed at Hardy's home Friday morning by the Lockport Police Detective Division, where he was found, police said.
According to Police Chief Larry Eggert, the woman in the attack was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital, where she was treated for broken bones and contusions. She was alone in the laundromat at the time of the attack this past Tuesday, he said. The laundromat was able to provide video footage of the attacker.
Hardy is due in Lockport City Court on Monday.
