 MARIJUANA: Michael F. Bermel Jr., 21, 6024 Ridge Road, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and unsafe lane change around 10:20 p.m. Sunday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. Bermel was issued an appearance ticket and was due in Newfane Town Court on Tuesday.

BURGLARY: A Wilcox Street man reported that he’s had $2,130 worth of jewelry stolen over the last year, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. The man said that an unknown suspect entered the home and took the items. He has not seen any signs of forced entry into the home. The man first noticed the missing jewelry four months ago, the Sheriff’s Office said. The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
