 ASSAULT: Kewan D. Jackson, 23, 6052 East Ave., Newfane, was charged with second-degree assault around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Lockport Police said. He is due in city court on June 9.

MARIJUANA: Dakota S. Bennett, 18, 6419 Lake Road, Appleton, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Lockport Police said. Bennett was released on an appearance ticket and is due in city court on June 10.

UNAUTHORIZED USE: A Ridge Road man reported that he gave his son permission to use his car on Sunday to go to Niagara County Campground, with an agreement that it would be returned by Sunday night. As of Wednesday, the car still hadn't been returned, and the man's son turned his phone off to avoid calls from his father, the Sheriff's Office said. The man did not want to press charges, but wanted assistance from the Sheriff's Office in locating the car, a 2000 tan Buick LeSabre. The man found the car on 3rd Street in Niagara Falls around 10 p.m. Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office said, and the attempt to locate was cancelled.

BURGLARY: A West Main Street man reported that his home had been broken into sometime between 9 and 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said. The man said he locked the doors. There were signs of a forced entry on the north side door, the Sheriff's Office said. All of the rooms in the home appeared as though someone had gone through them, with one of the residents reporting that two gold rings and a gold pendant, altogether worth around $2,050, were missing. On Thursday around 10:30 a.m.,the man reported finding the stolen jewelry, along with several items he didn't realize were stolen, in his flower beds. The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Bureau for review.
