Woman beaten after trying to stop fight

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — A City of Lockport woman who tried to break up a fight ended up with bruises and a stitches to close a cut in her lip for her trouble.

According to a report from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to Glendale Drive in the Town of Lockport to investigate a report of a fight. Upon their arrival, deputies found a 23-year-old woman who had been beaten.

The victim told deputies she was in the area with a friend when they saw several females fighting. Te victim said she tried to stop the fighting and was pushed to the ground, kicked and punched. She suffered lacerations to her knees, a laceration on her upper lip and a bloody nose from the beating.

The victim went to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport where she received four stitches to close the wound to her lip.
